Hello! I'm Siwei (pronounced "sea-way"), a passionate tour guide based in the vibrant city of Singapore. My hobbies, which include crafting objects from upcycled wood, growing flowers and edibles, and exploring new places, reflect my love for creativity, nature, and adventure. I thrive on meeting new people and sharing my knowledge, whether it's about Singapore's rich multicultural heritage, its fascinating history, or its lush natural landscapes.With 20 years of experience as an educator, I bring a warm, friendly, and kind approach to my tours, ensuring that every visitor leaves with a deeper appreciation of Singapore and perhaps a surprising new insight or two.My path to becoming a tour guide has been shaped by personal challenges and significant achievements. Overcoming severe anxiety, which stemmed from a near-death experience during military training, has been a major part of my journey. This resilience has enabled me to thrive in the high-pressure environment of tourist guiding, where I adapt to last-minute changes and ensure my guests' enjoyment.Despite these struggles, I have excelled in my career, recently winning the prestigious Customer Service Excellence Award for Tourist Guiding, presented by the Singapore Tourism Board. This honor, especially after just seven months in the field, has fueled my passion and dedication to providing exceptional tours.I look forward to welcoming you to my home country of Singapore and sharing the stories and sights that make this city so unique.
